2021/2022 Pollock Cranes NZ Superstock Championship

Race fans, the Huntly International Speedway in association with major sponsor Pollock Cranes are finally able to confirm, announce and launch the confirmed dates for the 2021/2022 Pollock Cranes NZ Superstock Championship to take place on…

  • Thursday 6th (Practice) of January 2022
  • Friday 7th (Qualifying) of January 2022
  • Saturday 8th (Finals) of January 2022.

We understand that drivers and fans alike may have felt a bit of uncertainty regarding the event in terms of dates with the club and associated committees having to wait until the Speedway NZ AGM to decide whether the event would have gone to a three-day event. Without getting into the logistics of that debate, the traditional two-day format of qualifying and finals night will continue as per normal.

NZSC Comp4ss Muster

Vehicle Checking otherwise known as Scrutineering will have a slightly different approach at The 2021/2022 Pollock Cranes NZ Superstock Championship. The Venue is TBC at this stage but is likely to take place at the now-defunct East Mine which has been turned into a recreational reserve and is only a few hundred metres from the Huntly International Speedway.

The meaning behind the name in particular the words “Compass” has the traditional coordinates of North, South, East and West, with the word Muster meaning the gathering or coming together of people. Therefore it is the coming together of a Speedway society from all 4 corners of NZ to Huntly.

The traditional Scrutineering will take place as normal with live Music, Food Stalls, a Classic Stockcar Display and Expo stands and much more to help build the excitement before the Superstocks convoy to the track.

NZSC Tiers 1 and 2

Finals Super Saturday will see our primary sponsor Pollock Cranes as naming rights to the Finals Showdown  Top 26, while the next best 26 will battle it out for Tier 2 honours in the Lightning Concrete Next Best 26.

We also understand there may be a shortage of accommodation in Hamilton and surrounding areas. Work is in place to establish some facilities at the track for Camper Van’s and Camping in general, so stay tuned.

Livestreaming of the event will be covered by The Pits Media NZ.

Superstock drivers, the Entry Form has been approved by Speedway NZ and is now available to download HERE and Speedway NZ websites.

We anticipate and expect a large field of entries for this event and the hope that it will be six groups to go alongside our proudest honours of drivers from the mighty “H” that have graced the NZ Champs podium. Therefore we would like to announce that the Groups will be named after the following…..

  1. Coming soon!
  2. Paul Wade Group
  3. Jared Wade Group
  4. Frank Van Vroonhoven Group
  5. Barry Featherstone Group
  6. Having dedicated so much of his time and effort into the Huntly facility himself as well as the Waikato Stock and Saloon Car Club, Club President Red Wootton will represent the 6th and final group in what will be his final season as President at the club he has given so much for.
